Innovation is at the heart of what we do at Duco – solving complex problems to make a difference. Our ESG effort follows the same relentless drive for continual improvement that governs our work for clients.
This means real change and real transformation across every level and aspect of the organisation. In 2025 we further cut emissions, embedded stronger diversity, inclusion and fairness measures, and strengthened governance and transparency.
Here’s a more detailed look at what we achieved.
Infrastructure innovation delivers further emissions cuts
Last year we made great progress towards our target of becoming carbon neutral by 2027, while delivering Scope 3 (value chain) emissions savings for our clients, which include some of the largest financial institutions in the world.
The further cuts to emissions were driven by smart cloud infrastructure, where we continued to optimise our usage of leading technology to deliver savings. Actions taken in 2025 include migrating databases to more efficient AWS processors, optimising storage, and rightsizing computing resources.
This allowed us to further reduce emissions from reconciliation processes by 40%, on top of the 60-80% reduction our largest clients saw after migrating from private to public cloud-based processes in 2024.
Additionally, we relocated our Antwerp office to a facility powered by 100% renewable energy, and reduced our travel emissions by a further 225 tCO2e on last year.
All remaining emissions are offset by the company.
Social fairness and inclusion
We strengthened our social commitments by advancing diversity, inclusion, and fairness.
One of our key initiatives this year was the company-wide rollout of Lattice, a new HR platform designed to ensure hiring, promotion, and compensation processes are structured, fair, and free from bias.
Additionally, by enhancing our career development framework, we now have clear pathways and leadership training to help every team member thrive. Our apprenticeship programme with LTSB continues to empower young adults from under-represented backgrounds by providing vital work experience and long-term roles within the organisation. This is creating opportunities for people who wouldn’t usually consider a career in tech.
And throughout the year we worked with local communities in each of our locations. For example, in Poland we raised money for children’s cancer charities and animal shelters, while in the UK we supported Macmillan Cancer. Across all our activities and volunteering days, our teams ensure we’re giving back to the places where we live and work.
Governance framework
Governance is an incredibly important part of what we do, and we remain firmly committed to it. In 2025 we reinforced our governance framework by aligning with international standards, embedding robust compliance practices, and enhancing transparency in how the company manages sustainability, ethics, and risk.
Duco reviewed 100% of critical vendors against its internal code of conduct, implemented third-party whistleblowing software, and became a signatory to the UN Global Compact.
